  1. I have 1Gbps business internet but my Imac can't get it so I had to get an Anker 2.5Gbps to ThunderBolt 3 adapter so I can get the full 1000/1000

  2. Hey as of now I am using my all built in router and modem from optimum to connect to my Playstation. Is it better to buy my own router and connect the optimum router to my gaming router and which cat type would be best since I have 1g internet speed.

  3. I don't know where there is 2.5 Gbps, here in Germany where I live there is only a 1 Gbps line from our Internet service providers. I also don't have any fiber optics on or in the house.

  4. There's one problem with the cable argument, and that's Cat 6 cables have become the norm. You can look and look but you're very very unlikely to find Cat 5e for sale anymore and if you do chances are it's actually more expensive than Cat 6. From my own experiences I had shopping for them.

  5. cat5e can do 10Gb-p/s, ive seen it. in a radio uninterferance area at 200 feet or less. if you cannot get the entire data speed you pay for from your isp then yes get cat6 or 6a. but you really do not need it unless you have a home server and edit over the network. or maybe you own a company and use company funds to run the good cable then do it. for most people in a simple setting you really do not need it. all i do is surfe the net and stream on some tv's. my internet isp speed is only 200Mb so why would i worry about 10Gb? maybe if i ever get a 10Gb internet speed then i will upgrade. i own a 4 bedroom house and 2 living rooms. i ran cat5e to all bedrooms and living rooms

  6. I'm hearing some negative reviews for faster ethernet Lan speeds. in the US the average speed is around 250 Mbps. but in Israel, the average standard speed is 500 MPs. if you want higher speeds you can get 2 Gps. and I've tried it. at this point, there Is no real benefit to it.. 500 MPs is more than enough. so even you have a 1 Gbs ethernet card. you'll be fine for a long time.

  7. 1 gbps is enough for everything's if y afford 1gbps plan
2.5 less useless due to less consumption and low lag but still y neeed 2.5 plan

  8. People this is not about internet speeds (WAN), this is about local network speeds (LAN).
Stop with this: My country only offers XMbps…

  9. Spent hours looking for a video that explained this, and you did it in style! For the love of god! THANK YOU! You're awesome sir! Keep up the good work!

  10. I got a 2.5gb router after 1gb, now I'm not upgrading till 1tb connections come out, which will happen exactly in 25 years. Which I should hopefully be retired to enjoy my 32K with 32bit ultra HDR movies. 😀

  11. I think you mean, my INTRAnet is about to get faster. The internet will continue to be stymied by regional monopolies, likely for decades to come.
