laying the field does not work you will perhaps get 1 or two races that will get matched its a waste of time
oh just lay the field at 1.5 odds 2 get matched and boom your in the money wow its amazing no one thought of this simple method………lol p.s for anyone else this am easy way yes to loose your money
As I very experienced betfair trader I would say to any newbie, do not try this, you will lose your bank, you have to be a lot cleverer than this to make money, why these people feel a need to put up such crap is beyond me

further to my earlier comments. I've also tried this with flat racing sprints etc and even with a close finish you'll be amazed to find you only layed the winner. often the horses have to literally draw level with one another yards from the post for both to be matched. if one has even a neck lead in the last few yards run to the line it's often enough these days for that one to be the only one matched below 1.6 in-running.
I agree Ian Oliver and 1Faustus I've tried this on a number of occasions for small stakes and you'll be amazed how often one horse emerges with enough of a lead so that you only get matched on the winner. jump races in particular thin out in the last few furlongs and often a clear leader at the last. too often you'll only lay the winner. might as well hand out a fiver each race.
All races have one runner reach 1.5.
One at 1.5 will generate a 50 loss.
Two reaching 1.5 will generate a 50 win (gross)
Three will generate 150 win (gross)
Three runners going through 1.5 is pretty rare. You need 50% of races to get two at 1.5 to break even gross (ignoring the eroding factor of 5% commission each time you win). More than 50% to generate a net profit. That's a tall order. It's not an easy way to make money. It's not a way to make money at all.
On any given day of the week to get two runners matched at 1.5 is not that common. And I would say that on any day of the week, you would lose. This has been my experience.
But if 1 gets matched you make a £50 loss, so the question is how often does more than 1 get matched?
