  1. 5:31 I only played the Wii version, I actually really liked using the remote for Zelda games. I would do the Inigo Montoya thing, “Guide my sword”. I remember running in place to get immersed too, it was my scuffed VR experience and I made the most of it.
Wind Waker is also the best One Piece game by default cause actual One Piece games are kinda….

  2. Solid list. For me it's 4. Breath of the Wild 3. Link Between Worlds 2. Link to the Past 1. Link's Awakening

  3. I love The Legend of Zelda games. I remember playing The Legend of Zelda : A Link To The Past as a kid and I love that game. The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the wild was amazing and I can't wait for The Legend of Zelda : Tears of The Kingdom. Cool video. ^_^

  4. Huh, I didn't know there were 10 Zelda games made let alone enough to have a top 10. The things I learn from YouTube. Lol! Edited: I completely forgot about all the handheld games as I'm not a game on the go player.

  5. These are such great games considering the original squeezes in at 10. Link of the Past for me followed by Link's Awakening at the top but can completely appreciate your picks. Nice list.

  6. impulse commenting to say that I also strongly prefer the GC version of Twilight Princess to the Wii version.

I really hated the motion controls most Wii games had, but even with that bias Skyward Sword has a lot in it that I liked. The Switch version is on my list actually, I hope to pick up a copy at one of the Off's or maybe Don-Qi or maybe even a Nintendo Store, while I'm in Japan.

I have a difficult time organizing my favorite Zelda games, but I've basically broken it down to a favorite 2D and favorite 3D; Link to the Past was my favorite 2D Zelda for a long time, but Link Between Worlds is my current favorite 2D Zelda game. As for 3D, it switches between Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild. What I love about WW is the character and story, but what I love about Breath of the Wild is interacting with the world, exploration, the immersion, and finding new ways to interact with the world even (nearly) 5 years later. I just wish it was harder.

Off topic, but is it just me or did most exclusive and first party Gamecube games age incredibly well? To the point that they seem to run and look better than some modern games?

  7. This must have been very difficult to put together, Jimbo. So many great games to choose from. Congratulations on this vid!

My number 1 and number 2 are easy:
1- Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link
    2- Twilight Princess

Zelda 2 was my first introduction to Zelda, and I love it to bits to this day. At the time I was ears deep in the Valiant Comics of both Zelda and Mario, and the animated shows. I got the game for my birthday with all the cool extras that came with it, the game map and instruction booklet with the illustrations. It was a blast to play with my dad and discover Hyrule bit by bit.
Twilight Princess is my second favourite because it borrows so much from Zelda 2 and feels vast and adventuresome. Plus the items are a blast, nothing beats swinging the ball-and-chain and taking out a watchtower with a hapless Bulblin in top plummeting to his death.

  8. oh yeah zelda has always been my favorite nintendo franchise… ever since playing the OG on its gleaming gold game pak, you knew you were in for a special adventure. few of the sequels came close to capturing that magic, though I did really like a link to the past! (and if you know how to emulate it, I highly recommend 'ancient stone tablets' the sequel of sorts for nintendo's Satellaview service… there's even a fandub with english acting it's kind of a trip hearing about other things going on in the world while you're playing, like the sidequest to save zelda in the overworld!)

Also good was breath of the wild it definitely hearkened back to the first game in some ways giving you a wide open world to explore and go almost wherever you want from the start! definitely a very close second in my list, for sure. I'm definitely looking forward to more of that with tears of the kingdom's impending release… I'm liking the sound of all the new stuff like the vehicles and weapon fusing… definitely expecting to sink a hundred hours into it easily!

honorable mention to link's awakening switch though…. would love to see another game in that style maybe based on the LTTP series?

  9. Of all the Zelda's, my favorite is Link's Awakening. The Switch remake is wonderful too. Followed by Link's Awakening in no particular order is Link Between Worlds, Zelda A Link to the Past, Twilight Princess, and Breath of the Wild.

  10. I still think that Tears of the Kingdom will technically be the first Zelda game released for the Switch platform since Breath of the Wild was made for the Wii U. I have no doubt Tears of the Kingdom will be great, but because the style is so similar to Breath of the wild haters will categorize it as DLC. That being said, it would be pretty awesome if Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom were on a single cartridge before the next Nintendo console was released.

  11. OG LoZ1 gold cartridge on the NES. My all time favorite. I got that game as a kid, my mom just bought it for me cuz the cartridge was gold. "Oh it's gold, it must be nice" Oh man was that an understatement haha. Played that game for hundreds of hours and its an absolute master of an adventure game. Little baby fuzzball me with a vivid imagination and this game was beyond words to explain. Love this game to this day, still play it. It holds the #1 Zelda game in my book. It's a secret to everybody.

  12. Not the biggest Zelda fan, but my top 3 are:

    1. Link to the Past
    2. Ocarina of Time
    3. A Link between Worlds

Popular opinion, I know, but feel BotW is overrated. Too much wondering around and I felt it did go on too long.

  13. Twilight Princess is my all time favorite Zelda game with OoT a very close second. Twilight Princess took everything that OoT and MM did right and cranked them up to 11. I have played them both other 15 times now over the years and still can't get enough of them. Wind Waker however I disliked. Not just because of the toon shading, but the story and game felt incomplete and had many plot holes that were never filled in.

Sad to say I never really got into the 2D Zelda games as they never really appealed to me. I felt that Zelda was supposed to be an open world type game meant to be played in 3D, or as close to 3D as earlier technology could muster, like the original Game and Zelda II.

  14. Zelda is also my favourite series and I think BotW is a good game but not a good Zelda game if that makes sense. To me it felt like they were trying too hard to make it like other open world RPGs and they added mechanics that I just simply don't enjoy like item durability and crafting. I really hope after Tears they go back to the more classic Zelda formula but I'm worried they won't with how successful BotW was and Tears probably will be. But my personal top 3 are:
    1. Majora's Mask
    2. Twilight Princess
    3. Ocarina of Time

  15. I number 1 for me is twilight princess. It just sticks out to me alot, and the final boss battel was amazing. But then again its also between that and Majoras mask.

  16. I seriously don't understand why everyone dont add minish cap in their list. It seriously is my top 5 for sure. Everyone sucks

  17. The commercials are what elevate your list above all the other Zelda top-ten videos out there. Love them.

  18. As your list went on, I realized you were either going to be one of the few reviewers who get it right and put Minish Cap near the top. Or you were going to leave it off the list entirely. You chose…. poorly 🙂

  19. My top 3 Zelda games are Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time and Link's Awakening on Switch. For me the weapons breaking durability is what killed BOTW for me and Tears of the Kingdom looks to be more of the same sadly 😢

  20. Can't freaking bloody wait for the Tears of the Kingdom game for the switch soon! Been waiting for that game since Nintendo first announced it months ago! The Legend of Zelda series has been a series that I've loved since way back in the late 1980's before I was even born back in 1981 & had so many memories playing it on so many different Nintendo platforms since.

  21. I remember the first time I held the gold cartridge of The Legend of Zelda. I thought I had found treasure. In a way, I did. This series has given me adventures to enjoy my entire life. A Link to the Past is my favorite.

  22. I own BOTW, but still have yet to play it because my backlog is massive and I know how huge the game is (I'm a completionist to a fault). That being said I also haven't played the Links Awakening remake. So, due to those reasons..personally Majora's Mask is my personal favorite.

  23. Great list! Of all the 2D Zeldas, Link’s Awakening is my favorite. But I have not finished the Switch version, so I’ll need to finish it in order to decide which version I prefer more. But right now, the Game Boy original holds a special place in my mind.
