We take a look at the ultimate #homelab setup. This tiny box combines 3x 2.5GbE, 2x SFP+ 10GbE, WiFi 6 and more into a small router/ firewall/ virtualization host/ server chassis not much bigger than a Raspberry Pi. with a case.

Can you guide me to install mikrotik operating system on this product?
Not being able to install Proxmox on the EMMC is a showstopper for me.
I‘d be interested the performance with OpnSense – any data on it?
Looks like an awesome little box!! I've been looking for something like this to use as a router in my camper. I needed something power efficient with plenty of networking, mainly for redundant ISP uplinks (5G, satellite, public WiFi, etc.) Can never have too many options. Some camping spots have spotty cell or satellite service and poor public internet (if offered). I do wish I could spec it with a SIM slot, but I'm sure I can figure out a workaround.
what about results for openvpn test? 🤔
Price, nope!
New version of this coming out mid-April 2023, i226-v intel ethernet and potentially a CPU bump
Build a fairly inexpensive x86 proxmox cluster out of these
Way too overpriced for what it is.
Nice box! Seems like vmware is a bit like buying an hp printer in today's world, just shooting yourself in the foot.
Too bad is only an N6005.
how did you get the Mellanox card recognized? In Opnsense and Pfsense it's not showing up on mine. The board is recognized in FreeBSD, the drivers are installed, but nothing is listed in the interfaces in either firewall
LOLZ. "If your thinking, "Hey, that sounds exciting", that's cuz it is". That unit kinda reminds me of a netgate SG1000 router that has pfsense lol
I bought one it have openwrt but i want to install proxmox, is there a video or instructions how to do that , how to go to bios and change boot to usb
3 of this with a little more of CPU power and being able to install Proxmox in eMMC, and you've got a cute little HA cluster.
Well, we plan to develop a new version with Intel N6005+32GB Ram+128GB Emmc with Type C+ 3*2.5Gbe +2*10.0Gbe Ports+Wifi6,is that sounds good?
Can this box REALLY handle a 10 GbE prosumer LAN?
Great video. It will support Mikrotik ROS6 in 10G card, is it possible to check?
man, rather than buying a TEG-S762 from amazon@$188, getting one of these instead almost become like a no brainer….🤔

I had one here yesterday for a friend.. That freaking thing seems awesome! great bios with lots of security features and over all seems great!
So just to be clear, you could run this thing as a full blown router, firewall (and adblocker??), throw in a 4TB SSD for use as a network storage, and it has WiFi and multiple ports (to then go to switches).
Did I get that right?
I don't see why it's better than mikrotik.
Besides router, then what can I use this for? What can’t it do?
Not wanting to install on mmc is probably just a Proxmox VE..I suggest you to file a bugreport..
Let's see, a no name Chinese spy trap being sold at less than cost … what could possibly go wrong with putting this as the heart of our secure network 🤣
I am surprised, when this is considered to be used as a server, firewal or router that a missing USB port is mentioned but there is no mention regarding no Lights-Out Management. There are a number of ITX motherboards with AST2500 from Aspeed Technology providing iLO (I use at home Asus P9D-I and is great). I do not know if price or space prevented such solution or similar to be added, the box is still usable as a server at home but I miss iLO more than I would miss one extra USB port.
Super cool device! The use case for this seems to be missing though. It's got it all, but it's not really great at anything. It might make a cool home firewall with Wifi access where you'd also need to connect two 10Gig devices to the network. Then again $500 is a bit much for this kind of system. MicroTik probably got you covered with one of their router/switch combos for half the price.
Who is the company? What, is the support? Lastly, please forgive me. I’m about to invest in my first Home Assistant box, it’s probably going to be a PI, why? Well, please…. Who are the people, what is the OS, and? Why would I care about the built in Ethernet speeds? Aka, I see, like 99% of my forthcoming 😂 smarthome, to be wifi/lorawan/zigbee/matter driven, aka, NONE of the things I plan on cramming into my joint, will be plugged into, the Home Assistant control center. So, please, help me here. Added: Tongue in cheek, take it all with salt as I’m chilled, and ready for bed. Aka, I don’t know who makes this box, what the OS is yet because you are still carrying on about the hardware architecture 😂 Edited to add: Jesus, it’s INTEL based? Yeah, good ole Intel and Microsoft 😮, not the most open source company. Thanks, I’m out. I hate these people 😊 again, tongue in cheek but I’ve HAD TO PUT UP WITH INTEL AND MICROSOFT AS A PROFESSIONAL FOR 30 YEARS! I DON”T WANT THESE PEOPLE IN MY HOME! 😂 Peace OUT!
I bought this device recently and since the SFP+ ports don't protrude outwards like many other devices, my SFP transceiver got stuck inside the machine and ultimately I need to manually pry open the latch lock on the SFP bracket to release the stick.
